Solving tips
Finish one category before starting the nextEach category has its own list and its own 10 clues. Run all 10 through one list until a single entry is left, then move on. The clues don't carry over from one category to another.
Each clue describes the answerRead a clue as something that's true of the entry you're after, then cross off everything that breaks it. If a clue says the answer doesn't contain an "i", every entry with an i goes.
Rows and positionsEntries sit two to a row. When a clue talks about a row, it means the pair side by side, so if either entry in the row has the word, both are out. Positions count left to right, row by row: the top row is 1 and 2, and the bottom-right entry is 50.
Suspicion Checker
Wondering about an entry? Pick the category, type the entry, and we'll show you where it appears and which of Van Helsing's clues rule it out, if any.
Type the entry exactly as it is printed in the book. Capital letters and punctuation don't matter.
